Personally, I actually like Gilda for some reason; maybe it's her design. I do hope she gets a redemption as well. ^^
As for the sketches, my favorites seem to be the ones where she's facing or almost facing the viewpoint, specifically 2I, 3B and 4B. Sad Gilda at 5H as well also shows quite a bit of depth of emotion in a still sketch, and I love it.
For some reason, the way her back paws are drawn on some of them give me a Bugs/Lola Bunny vibe from Looney Tunes, mostly on 2H, 3J, 4I and 5J. That last one reminds me of that dancing frog from those WB commercials.
I love your speedy sketch series! They help me to understand more about (MLP) pony anatomy and learn about poses.
As for whether Gilda will get a redemption, I'd say there's a chance, since even big bad, Discord was given the second chance. She is one of the few non-pony characters that really like in the series. I just hope if they're going to write her redemption, they'd write her convincingly though, unlike Discord whose big change seems too rushed in my opinion.
OMG, you draw really fast! I only just finished drawing your Celestia sketches myself. Good practice, though. I notice you're getting a lot better at wings. In the earlier sketches they often were way more messier, while these are all pretty neat.
By the way, after all this exp grinding I'm expecting some super amazing ponies in awesome poses in your next full drawing. You must be level 99 by now.
I hope Gilda comes to her senses, and gets over her jealousy and fear and makes a comeback to Ponyville!
Because while we all know Gilda was a big mean bully back that made a lot of ponies feel awful in season 1, when it comes down to it, bullying behaviors are rooted in the bully's own shortcomings and emotional problems. Being mean and lashing out in anger is really just jealousy, which is really just a psychological defensive reaction to fear, in Gilda's case, her fear of losing her old friend Rainbow dash to her new Ponyville friends. If she can confront her fears and sort out her behavior issues in a positive, productive manner, we might be able to see a reformed, nicer Gilda!
Of course, this doesn't excuse, dismiss, or pardon her from yelling at Fluttershy, stealing an apple from Applejack's cart, and her other bad actions, it simply explains the mental process behind them. She still owes them an apology. While it may not look cool to do that, and it requires swallowing her pride to make amends and change, she has a lot to gain from 'reforming' and becoming a better griffin.
As much as I love Gilda's design, I think we all know that she was a one time character unless if there was an awkward run in by choice. Trixie was looking for vengeance, Gilda just kinda stormed out in a huff. If you gave Gilda a redemption, you might as well be giving Flim and Flam a redemption. Gilda is just a jealous character who is also incredibly rude in nature, and Flim and Flam are tough business ponies. Besides, if everyone got a redemption episode, that would be boring and repetitive.
