your cell shader is very good. You using a ramp based on camera angle or is a more complex shader network?

Yes, it's ramp/camera angle based mask, used in Aftereffects to make the outline. It's quite easy to make and works well, though it needs to be masked out on parts of the face since it tends to create some unwanted "outlines" around the eyes and the mouth.
