Now that I'm comparing this to Gilda at the Beach I see you've made a great deal of progress in giving detail to Gilda. Her claws, wings and the detailing on her hair is greatly improved on and her expression is even greater than before.
And while there's a little less variety this time around with the beach, the cirrus clouds on the top are subtle and nicely done and I like the rays of light within the picture itself.
Overall, it's a great picture and a better job than before in terms of detail and expression with only a slight sacrifice in variation.
Yes, the scenery here is very simple. The beach background (as well as the ball) were added only later in the painting process. At first I didn't want to add much scenery to it at all, similar to the recent picture of the guard. At that point I wanted to make it as quick and simple as possible
