I find this artwork very intimidating. You, my friend, have odd ways of portraying intimacy. I like it. I especially like how the backgrounds is crudely bushy like in the series, only it has more detail. I would recommend, however, that certain tints and shading should be placed properly; as in, only one lite source should be reflecting the main subject.
Your painting technique is very solid and swivel, I would say, but I've seen similar. Don't take that as a conviction, but a lot of people can paint.
There are lots of curves. I like those, however it seems only fair that the sky be as colorful as the rest of the artwork.
The first thing that jumped out at me when I looked at this was your gorgeous shading. You understand light sources very well, especially the beautiful tail and mane. Well done. I'd also like to compliment on the background - it fits very nicely with the picture, yet isn't so complicated that it drowns out the foreground. The only thing I will note is that I have seen other deviants with a very similar painting style. I'm not saying that as an insult or a critique - I would just like to encourage a little bit more originality and creativity in the way you express yourself on canvas. Overall, this is a very nice piece and I definitely envy your painting abilities!
